Garlic Ginger Shrimp

Here's a simple stir-fry shrimp recipe I made today.


Ingredients:



  • 1 clove garlic

  • 2 slices ginger

  • Scallions

  • Shrimp

  • Tapioca starch (or corn starch)

  • Salt

  • Sugar

  • Rice wine

  • Vegetable oil


Directions:



  1. Peel and finely chop the garlic.

  2. Cut two slices of ginger

  3. Chop the scallions

  4. If necessary, peel and devein the shrimp (but leave the tail)

  5. In a mixing bowl, sprinkle salt over the shrimp, pour in rice wine, and coat with a bit of starch

  6. Turn the range to low and saute the ginger and garlic until fragrant

  7. Turn the range to medium high and add the shrimp. Stir vigorously for a bit and them let them cook on each side.

  8. Add water and turn to medium heat. Let the shrimp cook uncovered until they turn a bright pink.

  9. Add the scallions and sugar.

  10. Turn the heat to high again and reduce most of the water. Then turn off the range and serve.
